Merchandising Guidelines

A Merchandising Consultation is an objective assessment of the home and yard; the goal is to make the house most appealing to the broadest audience.

We can provide you with a detailed report from which to work, and you do the necessary modifications following the recommendations. For home sellers who have the capacity to do the work themselves, a Consultation is an attractive and budget conscious solution. We do like to come back and do “fine tuning” – help accessorize counters, bathrooms, and dress up the house with accessories if needed.

Room Editing

Merchandising services vary greatly depending on the type and level of service required. Room editing can range from simply removing clutter and rearranging existing furniture creating a spacious, airy feel, to a total room makeover. We have a large inventory of Decorative accessories, foliage and some furniture.

Do I need Merchandising Services?

Most real estate professionals agree that at least a Consultation will provide the homeowners with creative solutions to take on the task themselves.

Do I have to Merchandise my entire home?

Not at all, although every room should be thoroughly cleaned and depersonalized. You can implement it all or have us come and do a portion. We can do as little or as much as the seller needs editing just one or two rooms as required.

What do I do with existing color schemes, wallpaper, paint, etc?

It is essential to make your home as generic as possible. When in doubt go neutral. Often by neutralizing wallpaper and dark paint colors, a home will actually appear larger, brighter and more appealing to a broader range of potential buyers.

How much does Home Merchandising Cost?

Costs vary depending on the level of service required. Some home sellers prefer to do all the work themselves and pay for advice or a detailed consultation report. Consultations typically range from $150 to around $450 depending on the size and condition of the home. Other sellers prefer to have the professional designer do all the necessary work. Note: Home Staging is far more economical than a typical 5% - 10% price reduction
